Ten years after her death, tomorrow, May 21, 2025, a conference will be held in memory of the World, European and European indoor walking championAnna Rita Sidoti, to whom the homonymous Comprehensive School Institute of Gioiosa Marea (ME – Italy) is dedicated. The conference will be held at 11:00 am in the Auditorium of the Municipality of Gioiosa Marea with the following structure:
• Institutional Greetings from the Headmaster, Prof. Ricciardello Maria
• Institutional Greetings from the Superintendent of Education, Prof. Leon Zingales
• Institutional Greetings from the Mayor of Gioiosa Marea, Dr. La Galia Tindara
• Speech by the Councilor for Sport of the Municipality of Gioiosa Marea, Avv. Salmeri Salvatore
• Viewing of some video content on the sporting career of the world walking champion, highlighting the most significant moments
• Speeches by Prof. Coletta Salvatore and Prof. Princiotta Ignazio
• Speech by Dr. Strino Pietro, husband of the champion
The event will offer food for thought on the value of the experience of Anna Rita Sidoti, a champion in sports but also as a mother and woman. There will also be plenty of space for interventions and questions from students.
