Daisuke Matsunaga (JPN) wins 20Km in Tokyo: 1h20’12”

Tokyo (JPN) – Daisuke Matsunaga won the first 20Km of the year, that took place in Tokyo on January 1st, on the occasion of the 66th edition of the “New Year Race Walking in Tokyo”. The japanese racewalker, already seventh in the 20km of the last Rio 2016 Olympics, has set the good time of 1h20’12” ahead Kazuki Takahashi (1h23’45”) and Hayato Sakakibara (1h25’03”).

Hong Kong (HKG) – Also on January 1st, the first 50km of the year was held, on the occasion of the classic “The First Walk 2018” organized by the Hong Kong Race Walking Association.

Aukland (NZL) – “North Island Colgate Games”, scheduled from January 5th to 7th, has just finished in Aukland. The youthful event in addition to other disciplines, saw young athletes up to the U14 face off on race walking in the distances of 1200, 1600 and 2000 meters.
